The Maasai are a famous Nilotic tribe that is known to have migrated from the horn of Africa and Ethiopia down to the great rift valley lakes of Kenya and Tanzania. They are mainly pastoralists and nomads that move about the land for water, pasture, and shelter for their livestock which are considered sacred in their culture. They are among the few tribes that still practice their ancient and primitive cultures in this modern age. Get to see and experience first-hand their ways of life, their history, traditions, dances, food, and their relationships with nature, such as their keen knowledge of herbal medicine and wildlife.

Pickup at 8:00 am from Arusha town and travel to Makuyuni, which is located at the junction of Tarangire and Lake Manyara national parks, along wildlife corridors. This is a 1.5 hours drive from Arusha on tarred road. You will be welcomed to the village with a song and given a brief history and introduction to the maasai culture.
You will where Maasai uttire and join in their dances and folk songs as you go inside the village hedge.
Making fire in the Maasai way, through wooden sticks and tinder from cow dung and dry leaves.
Explore their houses and village structure. You can even buy souvenirs in the village made by Maasai village.
Walking tour of the vicinities and exploration of the different herbs and plants and domestic animal products used to treat diseases.
Lunch and depart back to Arusha for drop off.
