Tanzania Arusha

This is where beauty, serenity and calmness meet together.

Arusha national park is located on the north eastern park of Tanzania. This park is known to be among the first protected areas in the country since the colonial era of 1960s. John Wayne’s Hatari feature film was shot in this park, which is home to the volcanic Mount Meru, towering over 4,500 meters above sea level. Home to bushlands and montane forests, the park has a large diversity of wildlife like Colobus and blue monkeys, birds, antelopes, leopards, giraffes etc.

Quotation:

“What I was really overwhelmed with by Africa was its tremendous natural beauty; I got to go to some pretty amazing places. Area: 137km2(52.9 sq mi).

Times and seasons.

The short dry season from January to February is good for seeing wildlife and different bird species especially near the small Serengeti. From March to May the long rainy season bring cold temperatures (7°C) with heavy downpours & muddy roads. The montane forests receive a lot of water which causes large water pools that make game drives a bit tiresome coupled by the clay and loom soils in the location. From June to October, the long dry season is marked by clear skies, good game views & high game visibility as animals cluster near water sources. Wildlife can easily be found on the around the glades and other open spaces near the momella lakes. November and December usher in the short rainy season. This is the holiday season & the roads are accessible since there is interchanging moderate rainfalls & sunshine, that allows good game viewing with scenic lush green environment.
